Take the anger and tuck it away
safely in the box I gave.
I will hold the world
in the nook of my heart

Close your eyes tight
and allow yourself to see
the beauty I place in your hands
the beauty I give you to see.
Chase the shadows apart
and see the light of your mind,
feel the burning of our heart
and know NOW
we’ll never be apart.

This drawing was made using an eraser and pencil. It was a learning curve and fun, although I have to say that I am not a fan of drawing animals.

Hope

The face shed a light
that the darkness swallowed
as fast as it was able,
leaving shadows in the sight
of fingers that find the way.
but the heart had kept the light inside
and secretly lit the darkened path
to keep demons at bay.

Don't Say It

You don’t have to say you love me.
You don’t have to say you do.
When all is not said I’ll know surely
that we can see this through.

So don’t fall in love with me
and I won’t fall in love with you
‘cause what we really wanted
is for this thing to be true.

I can see in your eyes
that I am in your heart
and words cannot express this thing
that makes us never want to part.

So don’t say you love me
and I won’t say it too,
for if we never say it
then we can see us through.

Go for a Ride

When the sun is high,
of the blistering kind,
I’ll pick you up
and we’ll go for a ride.

Of kings and queens
we know nothing about
except fairytales and endings
that our lives don’t allow…
For what if I give?
And what if you take?
What if all I receive
turns out to be fake?

But as the wind
sweeps through our hearts
and festers the sores
that may tear us apart,
we take what we can,
what we can, we give
and pray through it all
the other will never leave.

But always remember when
the sun was high, of the blistering kind,
I picked you up
and we went for a ride.
